Astăzi, 04.04.2025, Asociația Municipiilor din România a organizat o întâlnire de lucru între Direcția Generală pentru Politică Regională și Urbană (DG REGIO) a Comisiei Europene și primarii sectoarelor municipiului București.
La eveniment a fost prezent și viceprimarul Capitalei, precum și reprezentanți ai Ministerului Investițiilor și Proiectelor Europene (MIPE) și ai Agenției pentru Dezvoltare Regională București-Ilfov (ADRBI).
În cadrul întâlnirii, primarii sectoarelor municipiului București au subliniat importanța și urgența finalizării și aprobării Strategiei Integrate de Dezvoltare Urbană (SIDU) de către Primăria Municipiului București (PMB) și Agenția pentru Dezvoltare Regională București-Ilfov (ADRBI).
Acest document reprezintă o condiționalitate pentru accesarea fondurilor europene disponibile prin Programul Regional București-Ilfov 2021 – 2027, iar neaprobarea acestuia în perioada imediat următoare poate determina suspendarea de către Comisia Europeană a fondurilor alocate.
S-au analizat stadiul actual al proiectelor pentru exercițiului financiar 2021–2027 și prioritățile de finanțare stabilite prin Politica de Coeziune, în special în domenii precum tranziția verde, digitalizarea administrației publice, mobilitatea urbană, infrastructura educațională și servicii sociale.
Reprezentanții DG REGIO au reafirmat sprijinul Comisiei Europene pentru consolidarea capacității administrative a Capitalei și sectoarelor și pentru accelerarea proceselor de programare și implementare.
Participanții au subliniat faptul că multe dintre dificultățile în absorbția fondurilor europene sunt generate și de lipsa unui cadru clar.
În acest sens, primarii de sector au reiterat nevoia de coordonare reală între PMB, sectoare și ADRBI, în vederea unei abordări integrate a dezvoltării urbane.

Local Authorities in Bucharest in Dialogue with DG REGIO on Accessing EU Funds and Urban Priorities for 2021–2027Today, April 4th, 2025, the Romanian Municipalities Association organized a working meeting between the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission and the mayors of the districts of Bucharest.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Bucharest, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) and the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (ADRBI).
During the meeting, the district mayors emphasized the importance and urgency of finalizing and approving the Integrated Urban Development Strategy (SIDU) by the Bucharest City Hall (PMB) and the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (ADRBI).
This document is a prerequisite for accessing the EU funds available through the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Programme 2021–2027, and failure to approve it in the near future could lead to the suspension of allocated funds by the European Commission.
The current status of projects under the 2021–2027 financial framework was analyzed, along with the funding priorities established through the Cohesion Policy, particularly in areas such as green transition, digitalization of public administration, urban mobility, educational infrastructure, and social services.
DG REGIO representatives reaffirmed the European Commission’s support for strengthening the administrative capacity of the Capital and its districts, as well as for accelerating programming and implementation processes.
Participants emphasized that many of the challenges in absorbing EU funds also stem from the lack of a clear framework.
In this context, district mayors reiterated the need for real coordination between the Bucharest City Hall, the districts, and ADRBI, in order to ensure an integrated approach to urban development.
